SHELFORD
DUCK RACE

Shelford's big annual event
11am - 4pm - Last Sunday each February
The Shelford Duck Race is a beloved annual event held on the last Sunday of February in the picturesque township of Shelford, Victoria.
Reborn after a number of years’ hiatus, the event was revived by a dedicated group of local residents following a major flood that saw the Leigh River break its banks, inundating the Shelford Primary School, Cricket Club, and a number of homes. What started as a small community response has grown into a much-anticipated day of fun, featuring the iconic Duck Race on the Leigh River, along with food, local craft, art, and produce stalls, entertainment, and a strong sense of local spirit.
Today, the event is organised by a volunteer committee, with all proceeds supporting three vital community groups: the Shelford Primary School, Shelford Cricket Club, and the Shelford Progress Association.
It's a celebration of resilience, community pride, and good old-fashioned country fun.
