Community Hall
The Shelford Community Hall has been a valuable community asset in Shelford for over 100 years. The venue consists of 3 sections, the Original Hall constructed around 1920, a Link Way which leads into the New Hall constructed during the 1970's. Numerous more recent refurbishments have been achieved such as a kitchen upgrade and the installation of four Reverse Cycle Air Conditioners. It is a place for the community to gather and celebrate various social events and is available for external users to hire.
The Shelford community has a proud history of running well supported annual events including Australia Day Ceremonies / Breakfast and Anzac Day Commemorations / Breakfasts. These events attract not only our local community but also visitors from surrounding areas, service men and women, guest speakers and Golden Plains Councillors.
The hall kitchen is well equipped for catering with a new oven and refrigerator and both halls have reverse cycle air conditioners making this a desirable community space for hiring and holding local public meetings and running fundraising events.
The New Hall proudly displays a local Veterans Honour Board and historical photos and memorabilia relating to Shelford’s unique history.
